Aquavit Guest House amplifies all the characteristics of a boutique style hotel, but retains all the warmth and inviting hospitality of a guest house. Situated above Bahia Formosa, which means ‘beautiful bay’, Aquavit has panoramic views of the lagoon, Tsitsikamma and Outeniqua Mountains and the coastal beaches of the Indian Ocean in Plettenberg Bay.
Each of the 5 smoke-free guest rooms, with en-suite bathrooms, are individually decorated in soft warm earthy tones of stone, creams and crisp whites with personal attention to details. The contemporary design invites a mixture of coastal and antiques using only natural materials. The rooms are spacious and well appointed equipped with either king-size, queen-size or twin bed arrangements. All have exceptional sea and mountain views.
Also on offer is a luxury/honeymoon suite, featuring a king-size canopy bed, large bathtub with complimentary products, oversized dressing room cupboards, bathrobes, chocolates and a cordial on arrival; just steps from terrace to pool.
Guests can enjoy a full English breakfast, served on the terrace, with magnificent views of mountain, sea, and sky. Attention to detail is important to us, so your breakfast will taste as good as it looks; a perfect start to your day.
Aquavit Guest House is located minutes away from the charming town center of Plettenberg Bay. The pristine beaches, great boutique shopping and fine restaurants are some of the many reasons why Plettenberg Bay has become a favorite with travelers looking for a unique vacation.
Please be advised that Aquavit does not cater for matrics.

Local area description
Plettenberg Bay is 230 kilometres from Port Elizabeth and approximately 530 kilometres from Cape Town. Plettenberg Bay is renowned for its unique marine reserves and is home to dolphins and seals. The beaches and rivers are a water enthusiast’s paradise. Plettenberg Bay offers the visitor plenty of nightlife, restaurants, pubs and an array of accommodation to suit all lifestyles.
Plett has three beautiful sandy beaches. Robberg beach on the southern end of the bay seems to go on forever and is a great place to go for long walks away from the crowds. Hobbie beach is superb for both swimming and sun tanning and also has some good waves for surfing or body boarding at ‘the wedge’ on the far end. The third beach is known locally as Lookout Beach which is the location of my favorite spot in Plett – The Lookout Deck restaurant and bar. Open for lunch and dinner, ‘the Deck’ is an excellent place for socializing in the sun or just chilling at the bar snacking on a pint of prawns. Several months of the year you can view those magnificent Southern Right whales where they come to Plettenberg Bay and surrounding areas to mate and just frolic eventually leaving with their young.
The Garden Route is a favoured all-year-round destination of many local and foreign visitors. The dramatic scenery, easy access by road and air and relaxed holiday atmosphere are some attributes to look forward to.
